I typically stay with boards that play more like classical risk, but when I stray from those I enjoy the refreshing change of pace that this board and War of the Roses brings.
Good use of mountains/rivers to set up barriers. Takes a bit to get going because of the large continents, but if you like digging in for a long game this is a good one.
It's improbable that a map that seems like such a cluster F on the outset should be so fun and play so well. The widely varying and imaginative territory bonuses always make for interesting, unpredictable games.
